Tour of Electric Road Systems (ERS) in Europe 

What is the current state of progress on the various electric road projects in Europe? What technologies are being considered?
Where do ERS fit in among the various solutions for decarbonising transport?

After an introduction by Bernard Jacob, Gustave Eiffel University –prepared with Patrick Pelata, former General Director of Renualt Nissan, Meta Strategy Consulting – about the role of ERS towards road decarbonation challenges and strategies, we will listen to and debate with many speakers from various countries in Europe:

 

  • Jan Petterson, Director of Strategic Development at Trafikverket –Swedish transport administration. European and international situation of ERS, output of Swedish trials and testing (2016-2023).

 

  • Giverny Knezevic, IKEM, Germany. ERS in Germany and the E-Core project, an electrified corridor from the Netherlands, via Germany and Austria, to Hungary, especially for heavy freight vehicles.

 

  • Dario Zaninelli, Politechnico de Milano, Italy. Dynamic charging project by induction in the circuit ‘Arena del Futuro’ in Italy.

We’ll be able to review the situation with people working on projects in France such as Alstom with the E-Road Mont Blanc project, or Gustave Eiffel University the Charge As you Drive project.

We will also listen to pitches by key solution providers, such as ElonRoad and Electreon. 

The session will end with an open discussion with experts about the role of these ERS technologies in decarbonising transport in Europe.
